Sr. Pastor’s Report: The pamphlet that describes CCC will be updated this week. It will be put in the pews, mailed to newcomers and used as an advertisement for our church. Raymond will attend a stewardship workshop in Hartford from June 14-19. The church’s wedding policy has been updated and will be reviewed when the entire Council can be present.

Financial Report: YTD we have received 42% of our pledges.

Worship Team: The Worship Team is reviewing an article on "Worship Style." They also reviewed the services held for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday and Easter Sunday. Feedback on Palm Sunday and Easter was very good, the Maundy Thursday service may be changed a bit for next year.

Parish Life: Hosting some type of an ecumenical activity for Youth was discussed, possibly in the Fall. The ads that were placed in the local newspapers for Easter were well received, it was thought we should continue with some type of ad program.

Properties: Bill reported that the new cabinets for the restrooms didn’t fit properly and that we need to find someone with carpentry skills. One large window shutter still needs to be installed outside. The landscaping group will be meeting to discuss all church landscaping needs, including planning the Memorial Garden. All church signing will also be addressed by this group. We have been having a problem with skateboarders using the parking lot. There are liability issues as well as problems with glass and trash. We will contact Bob MacKendrick to see if the town is looking at the issue of a safe place to skateboard.

Investments: This commission has not met recently and needs to meet to update.

Faith Development: The lighting in the old Kindergarten room needs to be updated. We need to find a way to keep Tower Day School space safe and private during school hours. People walking through the playground to get to the library and the Wiggles and Giggles group using the wrong doors have been a problem. Tower Notes has been going home in students backpacks for one month.

Christian Ed. And Youth Ministry: Our last Rotation for this year has begun. It is titled "Worship" and will end on June 6th with our Youth leading Worship that day. A social will follow. Vacation Bible School will be held from July 6th - 9th, this year’s theme is "Davey and Goliath." The Easter Egg hunt this year was very well attended. Youth Group whitewater rafting retreats will be held the weekend of May 21st. The 5th and 6th grade has 11 students going to the Deerfield River in western Massachusetts; the 7th and 8th grade has 10 students going to the Kennebec River in Maine.

The "Teens to Tennessee" group has raised over $1000 towards their goal of $4950 so that 7 students can attend the national UCC youth conference this summer. Additional planned fundraisers include a Mother’s Day Plant sale, a car wash and Krispy Kreme donut sale, and selling "shares" of stock in the trip. All shareholders will be invited to a dinner meeting in the Fall to review the trip.
Next year’s Youth Groups are still being finalized, there is the potential for 3 groups. We will try the Parents of Young Children Group again in the Fall.

Adult Ed: The Book Group will next be reviewing The DaVinci Code.

Other Notes: The Golf group will begin their season on 5/6. Tower Exchange will host a Fashion Show and tea on 5/23. We will discuss a BBQ/Games night for June, and a possible golf tournament for September. Topics to be discussed next time include Stewardship strategy and wedding policy. The moderator adjourned the meeting at 9:00 P.M. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday , May 25th at 7:00 P.M.
